Nine Titanfall Maps Seemingly Added to Apex Legends

Dataminers have discovered filenames corresponding to nine Titanfall maps in Apex Legends’ Beast of Prey update. Before Titanfall fans get excited, there are a few things for fans to consider. The nine map files that have been added could just be loading screens as noted by content creator Thordan Smash. And even if we did get the maps in Apex Legends, players are concerned if the maps will feel as fun due to the lack of wall running.

What to take away from the Titanfall leaks in Apex Legends

Apex Legends General Manager Dusty Welch, and Game Director Chad Grenier had mentioned in an interview back in 2021 that Respawn Entertainment wants to add more Titanfall content in Apex Legends. They said, "And so with all of the awesome legends and all the lore and storytelling that we're doing, the team naturally I think would love to deliver some sort of content that's like that, like single-player PVE content.”

Apex Legends and Titanfall are set in the same universe but the games are nothing alike. Titanfall and Titfanfall 2 had standard PvP modes that you would find in a lot of other shooters, but they stood out because of the unique and fast-paced movement, as well as the colossal Titans that wreak havoc on your enemies. Both Titanfall games sit in a category of their own and Apex Legends on the other hand is a mix of a hero shooter and a battle royale.

While Apex Legends does have a lot of cool movement mechanics and futuristic abilities that let you traverse the map faster, nothing beats the kind of freedom players had with Titanfall 2 movement.

Wall running has been implemented in Apex Legends through the Shadow Royale game modes during Halloween, but Apex’s iteration of wall running does not feel as fluid. It is possible that the leaked files are hinting at more Titanfall content coming to Apex Legends, but the odds of that are slim to none. Many players are expecting the maps from Titanfall 2 to be added as load screens or they may be implemented in some way in the new moon-based map that’s due next season.

But it does not mean that Titanfall fans have nothing to look forward to. Respawn has confirmed that it wants to add more Titanfall content to the game and the developers are making a new single-player game in the Titanfall and Apex Legends universe, which is something worth looking forward to.
